Our Ask Mayo Clinic Health Advisor service guides callers to resources and programs specific to your organization. In today’s complex health environment, a health advisor can assess the caller’s needs, help the caller navigate the system and direct the caller to the most appropriate resource. The health advisor nurse is a bridge to resources and programs such as EAP services, disease management programs, health plans, wellness resources, health Web sites, self-care guides and more.
Health advisor nurses educate callers about relevant programs and services that can help them their improve health, increasing participation in all of your health interventions. Nurses also make warm-transfer referrals to any of these programs, taking advantage of a caller’s “teachable moment.”
