Mayo Clinic Tobacco Quitline is a URAC-
accredited health call center.
Mayo Clinic Tobacco Quitline receives clinical oversight, research outcomes and consultative support from the staff of the Mayo Clinic Nicotine Dependence Center (NDC), a world leader in the treatment of tobacco use and dependence for the past 20 years. By drawing on the resources of Mayo Clinic, we can offer the most reliable health information and develop effective protocols based on cutting edge research.
Upon hiring, counselors receive 80 hours of training from Mayo Clinic NDC counselors and physicians as well as the Mayo Clinic Tobacco Quitline supervisor and preceptors. Mayo-approved continuing education in counseling techniques such as motivational interviewing and tobacco use treatment is regularly scheduled for all counselors. All counselors are expected to participate in and pass the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine Tobacco Treatment Specialist certification program sponsored by the Mayo Clinic NDC.
