Mayo Clinic Tobacco Quitline receives clinical oversight and consultative support from the staff of the Mayo Clinic Nicotine Dependence Center (NDC), a world leader in the treatment of tobacco use and dependence.
By drawing on the resources of Mayo Clinic, we offer the most reliable health information and develop effective protocols based on cutting edge research.
Upon hiring, counselors receive 80 hours of training from the Mayo Clinic Tobacco Quitline supervisor and preceptors. Mayo-approved continuing education in counseling techniques such as motivational interviewing and tobacco use treatment is regularly scheduled for all counselors.
